The Story Behind the Rub
After years of perfecting our original recipe, we enhanced it specifically for beef brisket and pork butts. Old No.2 features more spice, larger spice pieces, and less sugar - designed to deliver bold flavors during extended 8-15 hour cooks.
Before launch, we put it through rigorous testing: competition teams nationwide, barbecue enthusiasts, and over 1,000 guests at the Houston Rodeo. The results were outstanding - state championships and podium finishes across the board.
This was our first new blend since the Original Texas BBQ Rub, and it quickly became the go-to choice for serious pitmasters tackling large cuts of meat.

How to Use
Simple 1-2-3 Method
Apply Worcestershire
Coat the meat with Worcestershire sauce to create a base for adhesion.
Create Gooey Layer
Apply a generous layer of Old No.2, creating a gooey mixture on the meat surface.
