My Own BBQ Sauce
I developed this sauce to complete the brisket cooking process and to serve those who love sauce. However, I encourage you to taste your meat first before adding sauce—you may find you don't need it!
Ingredients
- 1 - 18 oz bottle of Ketchup
- 1 - 18 oz bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1 can Rotel (diced tomatoes & peppers)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Texas BBQ rub
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients: Mix all ingredients together in a large pot
- Bring to a low boil: Bring to a low boil
- Reduce heat: Reduce heat to simmer
- Cook uncovered: Cook uncovered for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally
- Adjust consistency: Adjust consistency by adding water if too thick
- Taste and adjust: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed
Makes approximately 4 quarts of sauce
